I went to war every day on the track for four years for the RMU Men's Track and Field program that so graciously took a chance on me as a student athlete. Now I happily go back into battle for this same program as it faces a new and even greater challenge. That's what family does! Keep the program, RMU!! #JumpSquad

If it wasn't for the coaches and the program, I would not be the professional I am today. Not many Division 1 coaches care enough to recognize the struggles I faced trying to balance my academics, athletics, and campus activities. I was not only a member of the program, but I was an RA, student org. officer, member of several campus committees, as well as Student Government VP (the first minority in school history). None of this could have been done if it wasn't for the consistent support from my coaches, teammates, and the various lessons gained from being on an intercollegiate team.

Student Athletes are the heart of Universities, especially RMU. They are the kids who stayed every weekend when everyone went home through my four years. They are the ones who built RMU into what it has become. RMU athletics were the original reason I ended up at RMU and the friendships I made with those student athletes kept me there for four years (in particular the Track and Field team). Athletics are important, ALL ATHLETICS. They are the ambassadors of this University and represent what makes RMU great. Don't take away a students opportunity to express their passion for sport and represent this University I am so proud of.

Please save this program for these young people. They need this outlet and a chance to perform their skills

We've seen your annual meets in Van Cortlandt Park and have gone to a few others, notably State College, and would hate to see the additional sports be dropped.

While I have no affiliation with RMU, I am a former sprinter. I know that my years as a runner taught me the deep values of discipline, perseverance and the power to expend myself in individual effort to ultimately create success for the team. I would hate to see future young men deprived of such a valuable training ground.

I have no affiliation with RMU, but I am currently a Division III cross country and track and field athlete and I would not be the man I am today without these sports. I would be completely lost if it wasn't for the guidance of my coaches, teammates, and family members who are huge supporters of our team. It sickens me to see another program get cut because I know that takes away opportunities that those young men would have been able to receive if they were able to be apart of the program. I urge you to reconsider your decision to cut these programs and think about all of the futures this will have an impact on.

This is wrong to take away a program that will help students accomplish goals through out college.

A great sport with little cost to the athletic department. Sad to see it go in order to maintain title IX compliant. If there is anyway to reconsider this move, it would positively effect many!

As a former student athlete at RMU this heartbreaking news. Being on this team provided me the opportunity to not only compete but to also expand my connections and network. To this day I stay in contact with teammates as well as competitors. Without these opportunities I dont know that I would have the same confidence or success in my career. People go to college to get an education first but they also go for the experience. This is something that could be avoided if other options are considered. Enrollment will be effected negatively and even though money will be dispersed to the other programs, what will happen if those programs dont show the success that they are going to be expected to do? I know track and field has had its ups and downs but they are still competitive within the conference and I personally know that the o

Cutting these programs is an injustice to those who have put in the hard work and dedication to them.

You asked these athletes, whose programs you are cutting, to make a commitment to you. You asked them to commit their time and energies to the benefit of not only themselves, but also your program, their school, and their communities. This commitment they were asked and in turn made, has affected their entire lives – Where they live, what they study, who they know and how they spend their days. In return they have expected nothing other than the support of those who asked this commitment of them. It has now become clear that this commitment was made without reciprocity. We strongly urge you to remember your responsibility to the athletes of who you have asked so much of, and reconsider your decision to cut these programs.

Indoor and outdoor track Is tooooo Much good and fun of a sport to get rid of. this sport helps athletes increase their speed and keeps them in great shape for other sports. if you take away this sport your gonna lose alot of athletes that go to your school and new freshman and transfer students that decided to go to your university.

Don't take away other people's sport away. That's their passion, and taking that away is being a dream killer.

Running is the only sport your body is specifically built to do. If your team is doing too bad then get a new coach, don't cut the team!!!

The sports that remain, of what do they consist? Running. Why, then, is it logical to take any attention from the base of so many other sports? Running in itself is an exciting and inspiration sport that nearly anyone can participate in. That being said, there have got to be things in the budget that can be trimmed such that this sport can thrive at RMU, and everywhere.

There are other ways to save money. These sports are the least expensive of any to run.

Sports are important to college student. Having something they are so pasionate about is unfair. Sports are known to increase oxygen to the brain which only helps students get better grades. It is also a good stress releiver and outlet that students need.
Save the program !
