Both of my children are track and field athletes. Their teammates attend RMU. The men's team has sent athletes to Div I NCAA championships. The school should reconsider this decision.

XC/track was my favorite sport in high school, I'd hate to see such a great program leave RMU

XC / track is the best and statistics show they attract some of the best students - save the teams!

Sad . . . My grandson chose RMU not only for academics, but for participating on the track team.

I am sure you have possibly looked @ other areas to cut back on or eliminate, but the amount of tuition that is charged per student has grown tremendously over the years & the grants & subsidized monies colleges receive are unbelievable & to cut certain athletics, you should be ashamed of this decision as this affects so many young athletics & shows how the college gave no regard to this decision - how about cutting some of the perks you give to the top employees?

Don't do this to these young men, who came to your school, have made friendships, grown comfortable in your surroundings, and love RMU. There has to be another way!

This is a bad decision and an unfair decision to track and cross-country athletes. Why must three out of seven programs being cut focus on one group of athletes? The potential dollars saved do not justify this decision. RMU is basically telling the motivated college athletes to attend Pitt or Duquesne or leave Pittsburgh. Bad move!
