Saving and rehabbing these well-constructed and -designed older buildings is a major part of keeping the character of a city alive. You'll never equal the construction materials and details. An apartment like this in AMA was one of the most charming places I ever lived (and I've been around).

Don't tear this historical building down. If someone is interested in saving it - give them a chance to do so. Just like Austin Texas. Getting rid of everything good!

I grew up in Amarillo, but now live in Tulsa. Tulsa has done an excellent job of revitalizing older buildings...to be honest, it's where the young 20/30-somethings want to live these days. Hope this petition is successful!

I live in the historic district of Amarillo and love the history of our great city. As an architect, I'm especially interested in the old buildings. I understand the cost of renovation but I also hate to see part of our history torn down.
