Please Save the Jackson Street Apartments!

Please give this development group a chance to put together a plan!

Please do not demolish another historic Amarillo building !!! Like Thad Ansley said so long ago, "If the Alamo had been in Amarillo they'd have torn it down and made a parking lot out of it long ago." Sadly the tradition remains, downtown Amarillo is just a ghost of what it once was.

I remember when hip young college students lived here. It was a vibrant community. And then slum lords took over and the beauty of this special place was destroyed. Please consider history and doing the right thing though it may be somewhat costly and take more time...you are preserving Amarillo like was done with the Talmadge we hold so dear.

Surely the Baptists could restore it.

Demolition of this building would be a devastating loss for our neighborhood and community. Any effort to save this historic landmark could be of value to both the current owners and the community. I ask Baptist Community Services to make the right decision and consider options towards saving this iconic structure for the benefit of all.

Amarillo doesn't have a lot of beautiful old buildings like this one. If the downtown area is redeveloped, this building would be great for young artists and professionals.

I would love to see BCS, which has done great things downtown, give the Jackson Square Aprtments one more chance at evaluation to see how they might fit the long term plans that BCS has for the neighborhood.

I want to preserve our identity - only one place looks like Amarillo. Once it's gone, there's no way to get it back. If there is a small chance this building can be redeveloped, please allow for more time.

This building has potential. Demolishing it will put an ugly pile of rubble in the middle of this neighborhood rather than helping said neighborhood thrive by redeveloping this and making it beautiful.

Our city will lose a major piece of its history and pride if this building is demolished, we must do what we can to save this historic landmark.
