Removing clubs would be a large step backwards for Duolingo! This has kept me coming back to the app for over 600 days. Human interaction is essential for motivating language learning.

The clubs fostered healthy competition, the leaderboards allow a few people to game the system without really learning and ruin things for the rest

I love my club. Will be so sad to lose it. I spend more time writing on the club page than the exercises. I think it will be a huge mistake to lose them and I will be so disappointed to lose the friends I have made, that have been so helpful to me.
