Having a social environment to learn and share learning in adds so much to the Duolingo experience. It's a fun, vital and low-threshold component to learning a language.

Please keep the clubs! They are importantt for my motivation. Sometimes I might feel like doing only one lesson, but then I look at the leaderboard and end up doing several. I also like to respond to posted questions and make comments. Also, bring back the flags around Duo's shoulders at the bottoms of the pages!!

Smaller groups with familiar faces/names .... very important! It's like we each have a Duo family.
The new Leader Board stinks and feels unobtainable! The high score is almost 800 before 10:30am! I am learning daily but will not reach 800 each day. I feel defeated with this new board. And...I miss my Duo family!
Duo, I recommend keeping the clubs. Please consider adding additional games with fun, obtainable goals for us slow learners (or just extremely busy and pacing ourselves kind of people).

We use the club format so my kids and their grandparents can learn spanish together and chat about it in a private group. Sure, there are other forums to do that, but we'd be less likely to use duolingo at all without our family club.

Choices you could better hone.
Give us clubs back or we'll sod off,
