My Italian Duo Club was so much more fun (and such a better way of learning) than trying to chase completely anonymous people for XP .. what precisely do you learn from doing that?

The clubs added a great social aspect to Duolingo. We were able to communicate with others learning the same language, ask questions about that language, write sentences in the language, and each club had its own Leaderboard (in a way that was motivating AND made sense SOCIALLY). I made actual, real friends in my clubs. Since the Clubs disappeared ON May 20, 2019, the whole atmosphere of Duolingo has changed. It makes language learning feel no longer fun and very lonely. Please find a way to bring back the clubs! Duolingo has now had time to see where the problems and issues with clubs are; I hope Duolingo are working on a way to bring them back in some format with some of these issues resolved!

We learn languages to communicate, and duolingo took away our one way of communicating with one another.

I hate, hate, hate the leagues. They are pointless for language learning and people are going to ridiculous lengths to get thousands of XP. You have turned Duolingo from a useful language learning tool into a stupid game. And we have more than enough game apps already.

Bring back our clubs, Duolingo! I feel as though you've traded the engaging atmosphere of the clubs for an absolutely daft programme of scoring points just to get ahead. What about the learning aspect of things?

Please bring back our club! I really don’t like the new format and it has almost turned me off to using my Duolingo. I hate it is pure competition and no communication. Our club was active and you felt like you were rooting other on in their quest to learn Spanish.

I’m sad my Duolingo club is gone. I looked forward to reading their comments. We genuinely enjoyed each other. The competition to win each week was often fierce making for lively learning. Please bring back the clubs.

The clubs were a learning experience... leaderboards teach you nothing. Please bring back our clubs... they really helped us.

Scrap the leaderboards and bring back ability for small clubs to learn together
