A very successful coach at Davidson and Maryland. He had a love and passion for the game few can match. There should not be a question of his qualities for the hall.

I watched Lefty coach tiny Davidson to the heights of college hoops in the 1960's, and then at Maryland for many many years. His teams were stellar, and he would likely have made multiple Final Fours if a field of 64 had existed during his time at Davidson and Maryland. Truly one of the all-time GREATS! Put him in!!!

That was when Duke-Maryland was a rivalry. It was fun because Lefty is fun. He brought great players into Cameron and had some really great games. Coach Driesell was always animated, joked with crowd before the games, shook hands after. Basketball is a game. It is suppose to be fun. There is probably not a greater character or ambassador of the game than Coach Driesell. How many kids grew to love basketball from watching him and his teams? The Basketball Hall of Fame is diminished by not having Lefty in its ranks.

Lefty was a force to be reckoned with on the court and off the court. 786 wins. Drop the mic.

As often said when describing Hall of Fame candidates in all sports; can you tell the story of college basketball without Lefty? An emphatic NO. Lefty deserves to be in the Hall.

Lefty not being in is just an embarassment to the HOF.

Considering his accomplishments at three different schools and the players he coached, Lefty is certainly on par with other HOF coaches. Plus, his charisma brought fun to the game.

Lefty had an amazing career at Davidson and Maryland. What he did at Davidson alone would make him a viable candidate. His 1973 Maryland team was one of the greatest ever and would have had a legitimate shot at the Natiinal Championship in today's expanded tournament. Lost to NC State in epic ACC championship game. Right an injustice and put the man in the HOF!!!!!!
