another sign of our corrupt, thoughtless govt putting money before what is right. Time for a vote of no confidence in the govt!!!

This situation stinks. The inevitable St.Christophers failures are going to move the problem of kids who need love and care onto the already stretched police, judiciary and prison systems.

I've been researching the history of The Children's Centre for a book to celebrate their 150th Anniversary. Not a lot of people realise that they've been operational for so long. Nor do people realise the full extent of the services they offer - because The Children's Centre has continually worked away quietly in the background, helping and protecting children and their families when they are at their most vulnerable. From the 1868 one room in a Douglas back street to the multi-faceted organisation they've now become, The Children's Centre has cared for our Island's children through times when no one else - including the IOM government - was caring for our children. If we allow current politicians to reduce the care which The Children's Centre currently offers the Island, then we will all be the poorer for it. Kerry Sharpe

fantastic place, fantastic people, really helped me and my son out when I needed someone. it would be such a shame if we/ the isle were to loose this fantastic place.

keep the IOM Children's centre...it has a proven track record for a considerable time....it shouldn't be about the money but the quality of care.

Manx based folk have fund raised to support a Manx based charity. Why can IoMG not support a Manx charity?

it is an absolute disgrace this is happening children are losing their homes and staff who are more like family than staff . The whole tendering process is/has been corrupt and managed by people who have worked together in the UK and have had insight into the tendering process and interviews. The CEO and other should hang their heads in shame

Oh dear. The Banana Republicans are at it again. Sheletered as it is from any oversight, sadly the IOM is all about what you can get away with.

I support the MANX family center and all the work they have done over the many years for the Islands children.

My son went to IoM Children's centre from being a baby til he was 10 - I had to work full time so thefull time baby unit, holiday and after school were invaluable to me. When I went through the court system during my divorce their 3rd party contact centre was a lifesaverto keep me and my boy safe from the ex. There are many good people working at the Centre for children and their parents from all walks of life. If the other agency got the tenders by undercutting costs then goodness knows how the children will fare. I know St Christophers is a fine charity, but in all the 10 years I lived on the Isle of Man Id never heard their name when talking 'child care' it was always the IoM Children's Centre
