Please help stop Dollar General *Again*

You still suck

What a waste of space !!!!! Stop the Dollar General. Until today I did not know what boycott Dollar General meant. Now I see the dozers.

I believe it will cheapen the area

I am stunned to read in the Pickens Progress that perhaps the oldest building (pre-1800?) in neighboring Pickens County is about to be dismembered, bulldozed and destroyed, replaced with a Dollar General store. How is it that commercial interests can completely outweigh the imperative to preserve the culture and history of where we live? One day the only place to know the history of the Jasper area will be a book on a shelf at the Pickens Library because of travesties like this one unfolding. A pretty sad ending in the name of 'development and progress'.

do not want to see any more buildings of history tore down for monetary gains. I grew up in pickens and sorry to see all its history disappear

Do we in America leave behind examples of our vanishing historic sites or in the future will people see dilapidated Dollar General stores. Take a deep breath D.G., and give the leaders of the community the time they need. This could boost your image as a corporation.

We really do not need another Dollar General and especially not at this intersection. We need time to research this historic property and relocate it.

We don't need this period. I don't know anyone who wants in this area.

Please stop the destruction of a historic site and such a beautiful community all in the name of a quick buck and convenience. Also, the safety concerns raised by adding commercial vehicles onto a busy residential road. Anyone can drive the short 2 to 3 miles into town to preserve the beauty which is becoming increasingly rare. One small store will not help with our counties growth. We need industry to bring in jobs and help with taxes to help take the entire burden off of tax payers. The best way to get bullies attention is through their pocket book. Boycott Dollar General!!

We have 3 dollar general already why do we need another in pickens county we have a lot of historical stuff on display the old jail cabins and the water tower what happened to pickens honoring our past to let another retail store come in and shut the doors on our small businesses makes you wounder just how many pockets get lined of our elected officials who is supose to be the voice of our community

We don't need another Dollar General in Pickens County. I can go 4 miles one way or the other to a damn store. What need are industries so the taxes will go down not a dang store.

Save this building for history, Jasper needs to preserve what few historical land marks it has

We already have many many dollar stores within just a few miles of this location including another Dollar General!

Jasper doesn't need another dollar store, or atleast find another location.

Jasper is a beautiful town with so much heritage and history. While commerce and community growth are important, it is not right to tear down irreplaceable historic sites for discount stores. A Dollar General is not needed at that location on Cove Rd.

Please find a different location for the Dollar Store. Thank you.

Pickens county already has too many. There's no need for another.

Please locate this Dollar General in another part of Pickens County. It will put to many cars in that area. Thank you!
