Whereas, the Alabama Legislature by (Act No. 181) passed July 29, 1976 authorized a 2 cent sales tax with 45% of the 2 cent tax designated for Allocation for the use and benefit of the Bibb County Hospital.

The Hospital shall take all necessary steps to quash this effort by the Bibb County Commission to divert or terminate the appropriation of these tax funds designated for use by the Bibb County Health Care Authority.

The Bibb County Health Care Authority urges our delegation to oppose the Bibb County Commissions resolution and to resist any effort to undermine the current Hospital Tax appropriation.

We would like to thank the community for their support over the years and look forward to continuing our effort to providing quality health care to all of the citizens of Bibb County. When signing attach your community location in the comment box. *Disclaimer: Bibb Medical Center is not requesting donations toward this petition, this is a request for signatures only.

I was just looking at the count and we are right on the edge of that two hundred fifty mark which feels like a real turning point for us because the commission needs to see that we are not just going to sit back while they try to move this money around. If you could just ping a few neighbors today to get them to sign we might actually hit this goal before the afternoon is over and honestly it would be such a huge help to have that momentum behind us right now.

Bibb Medical Center complex is a major employer in Bibb County and is striving to provide health care to a large population that can't travel long distances for this

Closing our local health care facility would be devastating to the people who need health care the most. People who live below the poverty line would have no access to health services. We cannot let this happen.

It took an act of the state legislature to authorize the tax, it should take a an act of the state legislature to reappropriate it, not a county's commission...sorry. Leave the money alone.

This hospital is within 20 mins for most surrounding counties..Without it We would have to drive at least 45 mins to an hour to be seen somewhere else.

This tax is a vital part of Bibb Medical Center's operating budget. It is used in part for providing care for the indigent of Bibb County. Don't let the Commission take these funds.

There are already too many challenges facing the people and organizations providing health care to the people of rural Alabama. Please see that the support for this Bibb County entity does not erode because of lack of funding.

With the shortage of EMS funds in Bibb County we NEED to support this tax.
