Here goes another landmark for the greedy builders, HOPE NOT. Keep it and develop it into flats or whatever, they knew what they had planned from the outset.

I am pleased to hear that the ABC has refused permission to demolish the old hospital, too many of Ashfords old buildings have been demolished one way or another. I hope that there isnt a sudden fire which seems to happen so often when the ground is wanted and a building stands in the way.

Please save this hospital building. People need their memories. Ashford needs its living history so those who come after us can understand. Take it away and you take away their heritage and their subliminal understanding.

Ashford has lost far too many intersting/historic buildings. This building should be converted into flats or public use, many Ashfordians have been through its doors.

When I visit ashford now I do not recognise the town please let at least some of the old buildings stay.

My nan died in this hospital and my mum in law worked there for years and it's a beautiful building

My maternal Grandmother was a midwife based at Ashford Hospital and ended up living in a flat in Chart Road opposite the place and she finally passed away in there in 1966
Despite be very heavily pregnant my Grandmother went to the laying of the Foundation Stone just to see the royals; my mother was born the following day, 21 October 1926
It is a building that must be saved in some form, so many associations with so many families locally, not just mine

We are moving into kings avenue. We were told it was going to be converted as was a listed building. We were supposed to move in June but delayed now until at least October. I can only think they are now deciding to abolish it as they are so behind in their construction.

My mum worked at this hospital. I cant remember when she started. But I know she was there when it closed.
