Please Help Protect Our Breastfeeding Support

Sending positive vibes from Worcestershire. This is outrageous! We already have the lowest breastfeeding rates in the world. If anything, we need MORE support, not less! Think how many women wont get the help they need and deserve because of this decision- think of how many babies will be switched to formula because their mums didn't have someone to educate and help them. please reinstate this support worker!!

Outrageous that this role has been cut!!!

What a shame services like this are being cut! Donna was such a big help in our breastfeeding journey which continues at 14 months. She was always honest, helpful and approachable which was so needed when we had questions. One day I went for support as I had masistis and unfortunately Donna was off sick. The health visitor told me to only feed my baby twice a day (he usually feeds 12+) and to sleep and be away from him so mastitis would clear and he would stop being so needy. Thankful I had other people to turn to and thank goodness I didn't listen to that advice. So we certainly need trained breastfeeding counsellors to support a normal and vital baby child bond.

Donna is amazing. She never pushed the breastfeeding agenda, but her specialist training meant she could help and offer advice that meant I could provide my family with what they needed.

find it absolutely disgusting that services like these are being discontinued when the services are so widely needed by so many families. Some babies won't take a bottle some won't latch, either way the support is needed. I have breastfed all 4 of my babies and used to be a volunteer breastfeeding support worker and even then 8 years ago we were desperate for more bfsw but now it's even worse!! Services like this need protecting asap.. the BF rate is only going to get lower now

Such an important service and needs to be protected in order to support to so many mums.

I am a trained nurse and I know the importance of this role.

These vital services need protecting

I've known Donna for more than 15 years and she helped me when i couldnt breastfeed anymore but carried on for 7 weeks expressing and Donna was such a help with advice and techniques, my daughter is now 3 and a half xx

Donna recently helped me when I was struggling to breastfeed and she was absolutely amazing. So supportive and caring, took the time to really help me. Other new mums need her help too!
