Breast is best and more support is needed for new mothers, not less! This is a very short-sighted move!

such an important role to new mums which is a life changing event ad need all the support they can get. The NHS is the first port of call and these roles should not be removed.

Being a new mum is exceptionally difficult. Having people like Donna supporting in those first few weeks can totally change the experience to being positive. Losing someone with such influencial skills is a nonsense; so many mothers have believed in themselves and their ability to feed their child because of her. This is special and important to our community.

Do the government not realise how important breastfeeding is, or how much money it will save the NHS?

Breastfeeding support is very important. I ended up with an infection that the doctors didnt know about and was fobbed off a couple times. Then my health visitor contacted the breastfeeding team and they gave me a leaflet to show the docs what to test for and it came back positive. I was in pain for over 2 weeks so I was so great full to my breastfeeding support worker. I would of just gave up otherwise

Breastfeeding support is so important and should not be taken from new mums. I am a great advocate of breastfeeding and since I arrived in the UK from Africa, I have been disappointed to see that not many mums in the UK appear to breast feed their babies. Boob is best! :)

Please keep this vital role! The support workers do an amazing job and help so many families. The benefits of breastfeeding are so vast and will save the NHS a huge amount of money in the long run. Please keep this role.

The U.K. Currently has the lowest rates for breastfeeding in the world and it's because women don't get the support they need to continue to feed their child the most natural way!
This is ridiculous!

This service is desperately needed to support mums with natural feeding. By breastfeeding becoming accepted as a normal way of feeding more mothers will accept this and feed this way saving the NHS hundreds of thousands of pounds and will save many infant lives. Please reinstate.

These services are vital for all mums. Mums deserve access to support and information and to feel empowered in their infant feeding choices. They, and their babies, deserve the help and support to enable them to reach their breastfeeding goals for lifelong health and well being for both.

Midwives have been a great help with my first and only newborn. My baby was a slow feeder. She was not getting enough milk from breastfeeding so midwives advised to give supplements and shown me tips to breastfeed. My child was partly breastfed for 4 months. She is never ill! She got nutrients from formula and breast milk which made her very healthy. The antibodies in breast milk help build a strong immunity which in the long run, can save money to the NHS. I am grateful to the help midwives provided with breastfeeding and bottle complement

Mums need this kind of support. This is the reason Britain has such appalling breast feeding rates. More support workers, not less!!
