The principal recently declared she is cutting the music program. Please sign so that our school can learn about music.

Arts education is as crucial to the development of citizens as stem. The arts/extra-curriculars are often what turn kids on to learning.

Music programs in schools are important. They allow kids to use a different part of their brains than core classes. Why must we always cut the arts? The time in life spent in school is so short before kids are tossed into the world to become adults. The arts allow them to explore their creative side and to learn important lessons about commitment, motivation, and sticking with something that's hard. There has to be another way to address budget shortfalls that doesn't rob the students of their youth before it's time.

Music and art are still vitally important for today’s children. Maybe now more than ever. Please don’t take away the programs that for some students are the only thing keeping them excited about school.

Music is a huge part in developing a child’s natural talents in music. It gives them confidence. Stop canceling the arts for these kids. Because if you do, you’ll be losing the next Mozart, the next H.E.R., the next Led Zeppelin.

Learning music opens up pathways in the brain that would otherwise stay closed. Music helps with language, coordination, social skills, confidence, mathematics, memory, listen skills, and teamwork. For some kids it IS the reason they go to school at all. Music creates well rounded human beings. Do NOT take this away from the kids!

All students from all backgrounds should have equal access to music programs in school. Statistics on music education have existed for decades and each time, they reveal more and more how vital music education is. Schools with music have a 90% graduation rate vs 72% without. The benefits are endless, better test scores, advanced math achievements, improves language arts, information retention, helps stress, depression, social skills, self esteem, cognitive development, even less drug use. A simple Google search will show you that the list goes on and on. Please, do better and keep music programs in schools.

The principle should not take away the music program. Music is where children can express themselves without words but with something that makes them happy.
