Please kindly sign this petition to endorse myself, Derek Grant Dykeman, as legal guardian for my mother, Jean Adeline Dykeman, Endorsing my application will help to insure that she has "conflict of interest-free" representation throughout the rest of her end of life journey. Currently her legal guardianship is being challenged by the Public Trustee in New Brunswick, Canada. This in a province that currently offers no memory care infrastructure, no independent, arm’s length agency to which patients or their families can file abuse claims, and a province which is currently embroiled in a major labour dispute with unionized nursing home workers over wages and staff-patient-workload ratios. In the interim, and before the upcoming court hearing, my mother continues to be administered Risperidone/ Risperdal against my better judgement. This mood stabilizing drug will only continue to be applied without a chance for family input - should the Public Trustee gain full legal control of her affairs. Once again, I kindly ask you to sign this petition in so that my mother can live the end of her life in dignity, and as free as possible from government red tape decisions and protocol that may not always be with her best healthcare interests in mind.
