The city council should not be making these determinations based on nothing more than word of mouth and no facts on the ground. The fact is - the city council does not have access to department of defense information or any other agency tasked with knowing what is actually happening never mind the context. This resolution is not appropriate for a city council and does not correctly reflect what the council is supposed to represent: the needs of Corvallis citizens.

Even when good intentions are involved, the danger of unintended consequences is too serious to ignore. Please focus on the local matters that are within Council purview and reject the proposal.

Corvallis has enough issues that the City Council should be addressing without trying to be judge and jury on international affairs. Especially when the issues involved are so tangled with hate and prejudice & clearly have negative impact on segments of Corvallis citizens.
