The UIL just confirmed that our kids will get to finish their spring seasons. I am overwhelmed knowing that my daughter and her teammates finally have the chance to step back onto that field to close out their final year. Thank you for staying by my side while we fought …
I am respectfully requesting UIL consider allowing our current high school spring sports to complete their spring season even if that requires extending season into summer months.
With COVID-19 regulations recently implemented our student athletes seasons are currently on hold, their schools are closed and they are doing online classes. Our seniors are facing uncertainty regarding their ability to finish their senior year, proms have been canceled and there is talk of canceling senior trips, community service activities and even graduation ceremonies.
I ask that UIL consider all of the hard work and dedication put forth by these young boys and girls and consider taking each week as it comes and make decisions based on facts/knowledge rather than fear.
Allow these students a chance to make more happy memories at the completion of their senior year in high school.
Seeing 500 signatures on this page reminds me that I am not the only one heartbroken for these seniors. My daughter has worked so hard for her softball season and it means everything to know so many of you are fighting for her alongside me.

I have been reading the messages from other parents who are watching their own children lose these final moments of high school. It is clear that we are all grieving the same lost time and that these sports meant much more than just a game to our seniors.

Crowds are typically not that large at high school softball games. Competition can go on with minimal risk and minimal precautions needed.

These kids have played baseball since they were four years old, some traveling all over the nation, some taking many lessons, all training for this year, their senior year. Please allow them this last joy of victory and memories with each other.

My daughter’s One Act Play group was one of three schools to win at District, to go on to compete at the Bi-District level. She is a senior, this is her last competition. Please consider extending the UIL season for ALL sports, academics, performing arts. Thank you.

As a high school senior varsity softball player I completely agree with this petition. All the hard work that we have put in through the years just to have it end before our most important year.

I only got to compete in one pre season tournament before i was injured, i’ve been out since. Now that I’m recovering and able to play the season is postponed. I don’t want to have played my last senior game and not even known it, and I don’t want it to be that way for anyone else in spring sports.

Please allow the students to finish Spring sports. My son loves baseball and is devastated this had to happen for all of our safety.
