On July 4th, 2019, Anand Karaj in front of Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji on sofa chairs was deliberately done by Halton Gurdwara management.
Head Granthi Bhai Joginder Singh Ji was fired last year because he won't do weddings against Sikh Rehat Maryada. New head Granthi Bhai Jora Singh Ji was forced to perform Anand Karaj on Sofa Chairs and Gurdwara president "Balbir Singh Chohan" registered this wedding by going on his knees. He is now testing the results of this "New War Against Sikh Rehat Maryada". Its time to show our disappointment.
Sikh Sangat of Halton needs your help to bring an important change to This Gurdwara Sahib. Present Halton Gurdwara Management has hijacked our Gurdwara Sahib and now they are blaming this on others.
The reality is that Sikh Sangat in our region cannot vote during election of Gurdwara committee. A person has to pay Canadian $5000 membership fee if he/she wants to vote. This method is working for them to keep Sikh Sangat out of the election and to stay in power.
We, The Halton Sikh Council, would request you to sign this petition to “The Jathedar of Sri Akal Takhat Sahib” to issue a Hukamnama to ban this practice and let the Sikh Sangat of Halton Choose their own Gursikh Sevadar committee to run this Gurdwara Sahib.

I torally oppose the act done by them as it is against sikh religion nd I strongly believe that come what may our so rich custom must be followed in every situation
Guilty must be punished as they didnt follow Maryada and sangat need to take over the management so as to ensure Maryada. Thanks
I feel very bad the marriage ceremony conducted by gurdwara committe on sofa setts.The said committe should be punished for this bad act infront of Jagat jote Sri guru granth sahib ji.
' who are the people doing those things and who gave that authority ???did the Sikh Community give them or the abundant community ??, who give the authority to them ? I suggest that dismiss these people and their membership And add old committee and so give the authority , they are good as compared to them Thank you
I agree with the petition. Sikh Sangat should have the right to choose Gursikh sevadaars to manage the day to day affairs as per laid down Sikh principles and Rehat Maryada.

People should think twice before disrespecting the religion for their own leisure. The gurudwara Sahib committee is at fault for this. They are the people we follow and they should stop them doing so also on as they requested. I would say even though the guy had issue with his back; they committee should have ask them to have their respected ritual “Lawan” done by standing. M sorry guys but stop setting up wrong examples for our future generation. Waheguru may guide all of these people!!!
