I know that this school has been one of the most successful schools in CCS, for years. What they are doing works. Improve the others schools; do not tear apart something that is good. This is a community of hard working families with children who flourish because of the attention paid to their souls as well as their academics. The school draws from all over the city. It's special. Their Informal educational approach depends on have Arts as a full part of their curriculum. The success of this school is not an accident.

My granddaughter has benefited so mut from your arts program and I feel this has made her a more well rounded and intelligent child. It would be such a shame to see such a wonderful program eliminated.

Eliminating programs doesn't help students...it never has.

Two of my grandchildren attend Indianola and I can see the positive impact the program has on their education.

It is through art and recreation that our children can express themselves, fid themselves and be themselves. What outlets are we giving our children by eliminating "extras" from their education?

Art is not extra, PLEASE do not reduce our art program!

I hope they are wise enough to remember the state barely even funds the art department as it is so how can it possibly help budget in their "cut backs"? Cutting the art is cutting a CORE part of their SUCCESSFUL curriculum.

Music, visual arts and dance have been integral parts of my children's education at Indianola and a huge part of their academic success. The arts are a central part of the curriculum at this very successful school. Indianola is one of the best schools in the district...to make such drastic changes to the staffing is to make drastic changes to the curriculum, which will alter the very identity of the school. CCS should be replicating this curriculum and staffing at other schools, not making changes like this.

I support a fully funded and operational integrated arts program at Indy and throughout the district. This program has proven successful over and over again. Should we dismantle successful programs? NO, we should create them in other schools as well. The arts are not an extra!

Indianola has helped shaped my sons into critical thinking democratic citizens and the model of arts integration is crucial here. Please don't dismantle the core of a program that works!

The arts program was one of the distinguishing factors in our decision to enroll at Indy. Indianola has a very successful, integrated arts program that enhances and supports the general curriculum. Dissection of the arts program and moving the teachers to other schools will dismantle this succesaful model. Our children and the district overall will suffer.

By all accounts we develop a life long appreciation for culture very early in life or we don't.

Why would the district consider gutting its most popular and successful elementary program? I chose Indianola Alternative for my two children based upon the program's design- integration of the arts with the classroom curriculum. One is graduate student in Theater and an OSU honors graduate. The other is an honor roll high school student and a championship level Irish dancer. Keep the full time arts team at Indianola!

Parents with voices and votes can make the school board reconsider this horrible idea. This will change the curriculum for the entire school. Especially for the younger classes.

Arts integration is part of what comprises the alternative experience at Indianola! Don't take away the uniqueness that makes Indy such an amazing school and community!

All of Columbus city Schools deserve a dedicated arts team! Multiple studies show that music, dance and art enhance the way we learn other subjects. Plus they provide a healthy outlet for kiids' emotions. Please maintain our amazing Unified Arts Team at Indianola K-8!
