Please keep the arts full-time at Indianola. This is a program vital to the school and its mission. My kids benefited greatly from the instruction of the arts team when students there. VERY IMPORTANT! Please change your mind about this as it has wide-reaching repercussions and should definitely NOT be cut.

I am so tired of CCS board doing so many things the wrong way, yet it is the children that continue to pay for their poor decisions.

Is this cut due to the budget deficit Columbus City Schools says they need to close? If that's the case, then I think it's only fair to ask Indianola K-8 to cut a day and a half of programming...there are other communities that lost their entire school. I do agree that any cuts are tough, but the entire district should be helping to close this budget deficit, not just certain communities.

The integrated arts is why we chose to send our children to this school. This is a lottery only school. Everyone who sends their children here chose this school because if the integrated arts program. It is vital to the culture of Indianola. If you want yo save the district money, cut some if the excess administrative staff.

Family & Friends, please take a moment and sign this petition. It is so extremely important to my family and will have quite an impact on my children's education and life! It was 3 years ago, my oldest son and I came to Indianola for a tour of the building. He was starting school for the first time and boy was I nervous (not to mention a newby at everything). The minute my son and I set foot into this building - this community - we knew this was our "home" for his education. The approach taken by this school - and its community - was one that I so desperately wanted for my children (his younger brother was coming up behind him the following year). My desire for my children was - and still is today - to learn in an environment that not only fosters academics of all kinds, but diversity as well. Never have I come across a school such as Indianola. The dynamics in this school are phenomenal and this only occurs due to the teachers, staff, students, and community that flourish here because of the well-roundedness this informal program offers. It saddens me deeply that this program is being jeopardized. How can we expect our children provide innovative perspectives (think outside the box) if we only give them "cookie cutter" (standardized testing) skills? Reducing - even just a little bit - the unified arts that is so deeply integrated into our curriculum will be detrimental to our students. Being a well-rounded student includes all academics, not just the math, reading, and sciences. Indianola is a gem among many rocks and is a HUGE blessing to my family! Please do not take away this mother's dreams, hopes, and aspirations for her children. Thank you for your time!

To my friends and family outside of Indianola~ This petition is very important to me, PLEASE READ AND SIGN!!!! Thanks =)
The arts-integrated curriculum at this school works, and the students and teachers should not be punished for their success! Please keep our arts teachers full time at Indy so they can continue to make it the exceptional school that it is.

This is a school that has an excellent rating. Why would you change something that IS working in the CCS system. Please reconsider your decision. You provided an informal school, you are taking away a core part of the curriculum... This is a critical part of the school...

Please do not cut the arts in our wonderful Indianola school. These teachers are not expendable, they are a vital part of our curriculum. The thought of taking this away from our children is not only devastating but will be detrimental in their learning process.

The idea that arts are expendable, marginal, and/or less necessary than the "real" subjects is a scary proposition and a downward trajectory that I would hate to see Inianola go down.
