CONGRATS Indianola K-8 Unified Arts Team! Our pleas were heard!

Pulling the arts from a school, or a community, would be a mistake on a grand scale. It's the medium we use to share, in voice, song, movement or in image. Communication is what allows us to survive and thrive - it is foundational to how we exist as a species. Columbus, a place with a vibrant culture and collaborative spirit, would suffer greatly from the loss of generations stripped of this creative educational base, as would communities near and far. Indianola was, for me, the perfect place to spread out, experiment with my own style and abilities, and in a non-judgmental space. It has allowed me focus on the present while imagining limitless points beyond. There are no words powerful enough to encompass my gratitude for this gift early in life - a gift which I continue to embrace, exercise, and share along every path.

To ensure greater success for children, wholistic approaches like that of Indianola Informal should be celebrated. Children should not have to suffer due to political ramifications and cut backs. Please reconsider cutting such an integral part of these children's education.

I attended Indianola in the early 90s. The outstanding arts program had a huge impact on my childhood. I hope these cut backs can be reversed.

Its because of this place that I am what/who I am today. I recieved my Masters of Art Education last year from Boston University and there is not a day that goes by that I don't reflect on my experience at Indianola and strive to make a similar experience a reality in my school.

Daily Art prgrams should be offered for every child. It develops critical thinking skills and keeps children motivated and wanting to learn.

Arts are essential. Science and math are wonderful, but ultimately we learn them because they are in service to the arts and humanities; arts keep life worth living. Many students keep attending school because of the arts; cut the arts, and many kids lose interest all together.

Without the Arts, an education cannot occur. All data point to the value of integration of art within an curriculum. Don't ignore the obvious!

The arts are a vastly important part of the Indianola K-8 experience. I can't imagine my elementary and middle school education without them. They need to stay.

Two of my nieces and one nephew have attend Indianola and it is a ver unique, outstanding school with a repetition of excellent students, staff, administrators, and turns out successful future adults. Why do so many children stay K-8 or in our cases PreK-8?????

My daughter is a proud Indianola alum and a 4.0 high school student. The arts at Indianola were a foundation for her success. Hands off!

Please keep arts full time at Indianola

Indianola is one of the highly successful programs that keeps families in the district. It doesn't make financial, pedagogical, or child-centered sense to cut the arts from this fully integrated program.

Stop making cuts you don't need to make!

Because of the indianola arts program I was reading treble, bass, and alto clef by the time I was 9. That is been an irreplaceable value. Please keep this going for younger groups!

I was a student at Indianola in the 1980's. Their arts team and arts program helped to cultivate my love of the arts. This continued on throughout my education and lead to me to New York City and performing on Broadway, international tours and regional theaters. I am currently an elementary music teacher having taken time away from performing to have a family. It is critical that arts programs in this country be saved and cultivated.
