Plaza De La Raza teachers and staff provide essential support for young children as they start their educational journeys. We are fiercely protective of our students, and we are committed to helping their families through these unprecedented times. However, recent administrative changes at Plaza De La Raza have made it difficult for us to provide the best services to our students. We call on the Board of Directors to hold our administration accountable for:
- Respect for our workers and their professional experience.
- Respect for our contract and our partnership with administrators and the Board of Directors
- Open, honest communication about safe reopening during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Los maestros y empleados de Plaza De La Raza proveen apoyo esencial a los niños del preescolar al comienzo de sus jornadas educativas. Nosotros protegemos ferozmente a nuestros estudiantes, y nos comprometemos a ayudar a sus familias durante estos tiempos anormales. Sin embargo, recientes cambios administrativos en Plaza De La Raza han hecho difícil proveer los mejores servicios posibles para nuestros estudiantes. Nosotros hacemos un llamado a nuestro Consejo Directivo para que haga a nuestra administración responsable por:
- El respeto para nuestros trabajadores y su experiencia profesional.
- El respeto para nuestro contrato y nuestra colaboración con administradores y la Junta Directiva.

I petitioned plaza to let me continue work from home (remote) since I have a minor under my care, or at least work from the office one or two days of the week, since my job title is parent educator and don't have to provide daycare and Plaza denied my petition. However there are some coworkers that are working remotely from home. I feel being discriminated for some coworkers had the flexibility and not me. I ask plaza consideration in my situation and be sensitive with employees for the times we are leaving and provide options to protect their employees to get infected at the centers. Thank you
Necesitamos respeto, mucho Apoyo de la agencia darnos a saber cuando hay Nuevos cambios en adelantado y prepararnos en todo para nuevas cosas o informacion actual todo tiene su tiempo para poder hacer trabajo de produccion devemos ser valoradas, apreciadas, con la guia apropiada sin estres, ni presion que afecta nuestra salud que es lo primordial para un buen trabajo con produccion. En los nuevos cambios thegnologicos necesitamos mas entrenamientos adecuados con pacienciia, tolerancia,y con mucho tiempo , considerando a cada una su forma de aprender.
I recently returned from maternity leave I taught I was going to be back to my original place they send me to main office which I don’t have a place to have my materials and my personal belongings and it’s kind of hard to do zoom meetings with the parents and calls when other staff is around and other agencies are working from home I’m a parent from another agency and they are working from home due to the safety and know we have to worry more because flu season is coming up on top with COVID
We need better work conditions, and at this point other agencies protect their employees working from home, but we continue working in unhealthy environment
Due to unsafe environment for staff at work site and administrators not hearing and makimg changes to address staff concerns , today is my last day at Plaza.

Im very saddened to see how L I T T L E “We Teachers” are valued by our agency! Yes!, we ALL definitely need our jobs and wages especially in these difficult times. However with this serious and very bad pandemic we are facing worldwide, its just unbelievable that the agency is risking OUR health, as well as other families’ . The agency has many teachers with underlying conditions, as well as teachers that are at a more advanced age who’s chances increase of becoming seriously ill from this pandemic. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE! Support us in this!
