The reason why I love the peninsula (Avalon, Whale Beach, Palm Beach, Bilgola, Newport) and why I bought property in the area is because here we can live in harmony with nature. We can live with wildlife and in the trees, while we are close to shops and everything that civilisation has to offer. It is a unique combination (paradise, really) that makes this area unique in Australia and in the world and attractive to tourists.
If these changes go ahead, within a few years the peninsula will lose the characteristics that make it unique and we’ll never be able to bring them back.

The proposed changes are very concerning & so much is still being reviewed, how can anyone even comment with so much still unknown.

Standard for meeting hazard guidelines on geotechnical hazards is way too low. Land slip is major risk in Pittwater. Also we need to retain our tree canopy and protect biodiversity.

We live here because we love the environment. This area may well become a haven, considering the impact of a changing climate in our future.

No more housing it’s congested enough and to change the zoning just cos it makes money is not a good enough reason to remove this conservation area. Please reconsider this.

I don’t think people realise what we could loose.
Lots of reserves & public land to be re-zoned. Once it’s gone it’s gone forever.

I strongly oppose the rezoning of C4 land to residential. Please maintain this unique area, for the enjoyment and appreciation of future generations. So short sighted to continue with proposed changes to a heritage conservation area.

Pittwater area can not continue to retain its unique flora and fauna under these zoning changes. Once it’s gone, it’s gone

I strongly oppose the rezoning of C4 land to residential. We need to maintain this land for environmental reasons, also the total lack of infrastructure for the existing community let alone for an increase in population.

These heritage conservation areas are for our kids and grandkids to enjoy. They MUST NOT be turned into residential allotments. Once thet are rezoned thet are lost to the community forever.

Turning these zones to residential is a license to take away the trees and end up looking like Bondi.
