Save Piping Rock! Another dangerous synthetic turf field in our town??! That our $$ -- taxpayer $$ -- is being used for without our knowledge from the town. Enough! Rumson was a beautiful, low key town - I've lived here all my life. We need to keep it that way.

They cannot get rid of these tennis courts and trees.
This is a terrible idea on so many levels,
Please keep the grass field , maintenance costs should always take a back seat the our children health

There has been insufficient information provided by the recreation committee and the town generally. More transparency is necessary to do anything of this magnitude. I prefer grass.

I would favor a scaled down version of this project. I have used this field many times as a child and a coach of junior lacrosse.
I think a more measured approach is required...
My two sense but I have used all these fields in my past. Aesthetically it would look bad in my opinion.

I am against synthetic turf and the long term affects is has on our health. Rumson needs to keep and update our proper baseball field. If you want to make an addition, add lights for night games.

Let's put infield grass in and make it a proper baseball field with a natural mound. Baseball is seeing a resurgence in Rumson - lets keep this momentum going.

Turf fields are known to release 43 toxins, some of which, when inhaled or absorbed into skin are known carcinogens... They do not recommend playing on turf fields in the extreme heat or to sit or lie on turf in general... Why would we pay to change our natural park to one that children cannot roll around on or play on during hot days or may cause them to develop cancer?

Building another turf field in town, in place of our existing natural green space is poor use of resources, Our town does not need more impervious surface!
In addition, we are now known by many as a "farm league" of athletics. Though this may please some, wouldn't it be better to be known as a small town that values education, its libraries, and green space? In addition, the safety of this turf surface -- both physical and environmental -- is questionable, at best.
