Pimlico Mums say no to new bridge from St George's Square

Outrageous for the community of Pimlico, where green space is limited.

Leve our park alone you have to bridges to walk or ride across you do not need another one

just useless

I am totally and strongly against the construction of this bridge.

St George's Square is a wonderful and safe haven for families with small children in Pimlico which provides a peaceful enchanted garden for the many of us who do not have any outside space and often live in cramped flats. This would be irrevocably ruined by the greatly increased footfall passing and entering the gardens if the footbridge were to go ahead. We are greatly distressed at the thought of this being spoiled - the garden is already often crowded on sunny days and increasing usage would be detrimental to the lives of the many young and old who currently enjoy the space. This is completely unnecessary to place a bridge in the only tranquil space in this area. I am a resident in the direct line of fire of the proposed site and saturating here with more cycles ( which already are involved in enough accidents on Grosvenor Road) and thousands more bodies everyday is ridiculous. Vauxhall bridge with cycle lanes as wide as car lanes I may add are 3/4 minute walk away which would take traffic of cycles and people directly to all bus stops and Tube. This is about Money as per usual and many know, the few to gain from this ARE NOT residents/ their children.

This is just for the new posh flats going up at the old royal Mail site Vauxhall Pimlico doesn't need it!

It would destroy one of the few green spaces in Pimlico that residents can enjoy. It would mean hundreds of people would find themselves in a quiet square, off a main road & not within sight of an underground station or bus stop! At the rate new bridges are being proposed we may be better just covering the Thames over completely so it's easy to get from one side to the other without having to make an effort. It is a very short walk between bridges & a little exercise won't do any damage!

I'm sure I read somewhere this has already been given the go ahead

Don't cut up our local community by destroying the only public square for locals in Pimlico - Many locals, like us,have no outdoor space in living in flats - St George's Square is our only "garden" where our kids can play and run around. Government guidelines advise daily exercise for children!

It would be a tragedy to lose this tiny bit of precious green space = please reconsider

St George's Square is a precious haven in a residential area. The new crossing will disturb the tranquility and ruin the only outdoor place in Pimlico where different generations can gather

Preserve the tranquility of this lovely area.

Don't ruin this lovely garden for the locals!

This is a wonderful, secure space for families. Please don't ruin it.

Not only is St George's Sq a wonderful place for children to run around it is also where the whole community get together for SouthWestFest. It would be such a shame if this beautiful square was taken away from the local people of Pimlico.

i use this park regularly with my children as a brilliant open space for them to play

If Wandsworth council has promised to American embassy why Westminster councils residents suffer relocate the bridge thank you

I visit the square with my grandchildren almost every day it is the only green and safe area where they can play safely please relocate the bridge thank you

St George's square is only public green space in which children can play and elderly can relax please Go Green @ relocate the bridge
