we got the news today that the charter was approved and its actually happening. i cant believe how much this community pulled together to get us over the finish line. thanks for sticking with me while we pushed for this school.

Final supporters
Pike Creek Charter is a potential middle school that would serve students in grades 6-8 in the Pike Creek and other surrounding areas. Pike Creek Charter will not only give students another middle school option but we will be the only middle school in the state with a health and wellness focus. Our goal is to open Pike Creek Charter in September 2014.
Quick Facts-
Our school will offer:
Dual-certified teachers that specialize in KinestheticLearning
Strong emphasis on building healthy and active lifestyles
Rigorous academics through research proven curriculum and instruction
One hourof physical activity a day which will include unique classes such as Yoga, Zumba, strength and conditioning
Advanced health, wellness and science classes
Twice yearly projects that encompass all classes
Nutrition classes and healthy food options
Community service mandated
On site pool
Community support is especially important to us and also a significant part of the charter application process.

Sounds like a perfect fit for today's educational and wellness environment. Please make it happen! Let me know what i can do. I have an 8 year old granddaugher in Pike Creek, and would love for her to have this opportunity.
My son is struggling in his current middle school and needs a better option. This looks like a great idea for all the kids in pike creek.
love the focus on wellness and yoga. sounds way better than just sitting at a desk all day. hope my daughter gets in.
FINALLY. we need more options besides the overcrowded local schools. hope this gets approved fast!
