We, the undersigned, are petitioning Governor Rod Blagojevich of Illinois to make the best choice for the people of Illinois and the nation, by appointing Congressman Jesse Jackson Jr., to fill the remaining term of the senate seat held by President-Elect Barack Obama. We believe that Congressman Jackson, Jr. is the best choice, given his background, his experience, his leadership, his progressive politics and his service as National Co-Chair of the Obama for President Campaign. We respectfully ask Governor Blagojevich to hear our request.
