Vets do NOT have the training or expertise to perform PT for animals. A PT gets licensed and has many hours of training, let the vets do surgery and dispense medicine as a cure, but they can NOT know everything about physical therapy.

Without Rod Newman in Goodlettsville, TN, my dog Bayla would've never have improved at the rate that she did. She was paralyzed but his treatments helped her to gain mobility.

It's ridiculous to limit the area this way, when others who become certified therapists pay good money, do the same studying, & earn their certificates, have the ability to offer the same therapy to animals!!!

PTs have a valuable role to offer in animal phiical rehabilitation! Please do not discount them. (massage therapists may be different, really should be overseen or referred by veterinarians)

Vets also think they are qualified nutritionists, promoting Hills Prescription garbage, etc. It's not about high level of care anymore. It's about making a buck anywhere they can.

I am both a fully qualified human physical therapist, veterinary therapist and veterinary surgeon and thus am in a great position to testify that the therapy provided by physical therapists is definitely not subservient to that of vets. I would go as far as to say the physical therapist has a greater set of skills in this area.

Come on veterinarians. You take classes from the PT's to learn how to do rehab and then turn around and try to exclude the very people that have taught you?
