To the board of directors at Philips BV, As an Audio Visual professional who has pro-actively marketed, installed and maintained your Pronto range of products, I must protest at your decision to discontinue this line of products. We believe that Pronto is as relevant as it has ever been as product, which fulfils a very specific set of custom audio visual installation needs that only competitors, who are far more expensive, can achieve. I have a large client base that has chosen Pronto, and in doing so their brand loyalty to Philips has increased considerably. In effect Pronto has brought indirect income to Philips time and time again through their use of Pronto on a daily basis. I have several projects in the pipeline that would have used Pronto, again exposing very high-end customers to Philips as a quality brand, which a significant proportion of the higher income clients perceive as being 'too cheap'. These clients will no longer get the exposure that Pronto would have have afforded them, and I fear these clients will never become a Philips customer. From my point of view, this sudden announcement to discontinue Pronto has more than let me down. The impact of this announcement will affect me thus: - It will affect my ability to support the product in the future through the supply of support, spare parts, additional inventory to expand systems and software updates to enhance the product - The lack of future development of the product means that I have in effect mis-sold every single Pronto unit to my clients; I told them that the product was continually being improved and would continued to deliver more and more over time. This salient point is why many decided to buy the product; now this is no longer true - Products we compared against are now the only market choices; we have to in effect choose from those we sold against, and lose face in doing so This decision has far reaching implications. Philips are letting down a very important market - that of the custom AV installer, who mat be selling your televisions and AV components as well as Pronto. I fear that some may just no longer support Philips as a whole, causing you to lose far more business in the long term. I must admit I am seriously considering boycotting Philips as a result of this recent announcement. Philips will lose far more money and reputation. I plead with you to keep this division running and to continue to develop the quality product range we have enjoyed for so long, until such time that Philips can find a suitable company to purchase it from you, with the aim of keeping this very relevant product on the market.

im still in talks with the team and trying to find someone who will actually listen to us about the pronto line. the silence from the top is pretty frustrating but reading all your stories about how much you rely on these units keeps me going.

im honestly blown away by the response so far. seeing so many people speak up for pronto really shows philips that we arent going anywhere quietly.

I still use a Pronto product every day. Still the best and most configurable device I have ever used for my Home theater, Please make new models so we can do a remote OUR WAY, not the way 3rd parties think we should...

nothing else does what my TSU9600 does. so frustrating that philips is just abandoning their best customers.

Had my system for years. Why get rid of the only tech that actually works for custom setups? Bad move philips.

Stupid decision. My clients love these remotes and now i have to tell them we have to switch to something else that costs double. thanks for nothing.
