Phase Out iPads in the Parsippany Troy-Hills School District

Think about the children

The iPads are extremely beneficial for us high school students, and by taking them away and having us get used to completely unfamiliar chrome books which are constantly malfunctioning would be a terrible mistake. Notability is one of the best applications for any high school student, and this is not available on the chrome book which will make my note-taking much more difficult. Thank you for your time.

It would be hard for the juniors to deal with the change because all of our notes are on notability.

High schoolers should keep their iPads and let the elementary kids get the chrome books.

I am firmly behind keeping my iPad until I graduate. Although both devices are flawed, staying on the iPads will be more beneficial to me.

i’m very content with my ipad, and the ability to actually right down notes with my fingers on notability is extremely useful so i’d prefer to have that option.

I believe this petition is a great way to voice everyone’s opinion on the chromebooks. They are simply much harder to use and I think we need to keep the iPad in order to have an efficient learning environment.

I agree with this, the ipads, which contain notability, provide us students with the convenience of taking all of our notes online, with the ability to draw diagrams as well. It is a useful application that can save all of your files and essentially act as an electronic binder. The chromebooks, with Kami, don’t have as great a reputation as iPads with notability , considering the crazy amount of times it crashes. Please let us keep the iPads. Us high school students are more in need of them than elementary school kids since we need a device that provides us the convenience of taking notes and doing homework digitally, and we have much more busy schedules.

We have used various features on the ipad through out highschool such as notability files etc which cannot be transferred in the middle of highschool

The petition is kinda confusing but after reading it I 100% agree. The chrome books make note taking time in class so much longer which shortens instruction time in the high school. It’s a complete inconvenience.

As a current senior, I can attest to how integral using an iPad all four years has been to my education at PHHS. Apps like notability, imovie, keynote, and the camera aspect have made projects and assessments not only easier, but more effective. There is no way the chrome book could offer any similar features without the possiblilty of wasting time as well as not being as reliable.

I use notability every single day as a learning tool in almost all of my classes. It would be detrimental to the efficiency in my learning that I have become so accustomed to since freshman year. Chrome books, as phrased by the current freshman, are quite simply, a joke. So if you will, do us this one favor, which will also save money, and let us keep the major thing this district has supplied me that has benefitted my experience at the hills.
