In Ontario, retail pharmacies have adopted a business practice of waiving $2.00 off the Ontario Drug Benefit ( ODB ) copay for ODB eligible recipients.

We pharmacists view this as the devaluing of our professional services. The active promotion of discounting sends a message to the Ontario government, third party payers, other health care professionals and, to patients that pharmacy does not need full funding for the professional services we offer.

The signatures obtained oppose this practice.
