Per 52 anni la Rai di New York ha garantito la copertura informativa nel Nord America e ha distribuito la programmazione italiana negli Stati Uniti. I suoi dipendenti, che con professionalità hanno reso possibili questi servizi, sono stati licenziati e il loro lavoro è stato trasferito a subappalti, mentre la Rai offre aumenti a dirigenti e conduttori.

Rai unfairly laid off 38 employees in the middle of contract negotiations, leaving working families without pay and without medical insurance. For 52 years Rai New York has covered the news in North America and has broadcast Italian programming in the U.S. The dedicated workers who made this possible were laid off and their jobs outsourced while Rai gives its executives and celebrities huge raises and bonuses.

I have spent my time lately reading the stories from the families impacted by these decisions because they are the real focus here. It is overwhelming to see that so many of you care about these thirty-eight people when I honestly just expected a few friends to notice. We are working to ensure the right people see these names and understand what has been taken away.

Una vergogna assoluta buttare in mezzo alla strada gente seria che lavora da decenni. La Rai deve tornare sui suoi passi.
Senza stipendio e senza assistenza medica in America? Siete dei criminali.
Ridicolo. Tagliare il personale di NY è un colpo basso per tutti gli italiani che vivono qui.
Sempre peggio. Meno programmi di qualità e meno gente che lavora bene. Ridate il posto a questi lavoratori.
