RFH parents are trying to ban books. Express your discontent below. Also list your favorite book if you'd like. Mine was The Grapes of Wrath. Once a banned book.

These thoughtful, articulate letters from former RFH students are exactly why banning books is dangerous. They are engaged, passionate readers whose education has helped form them into free-thinking, opinionated citizens. That's what books are supposed to do.

If we want our kids to change the world, they need to understand it. Censorship is the quickest way to cultivate a generation of ignorant adults. Instead, let's support the teachers at RFH, who are well-equipped to help students grow into engaged and thoughtful adults.

We don't have to agree with or like every book to learn something from reading. How will we know what we believe and value without hearing multiple points of view, considering alternate ones, and being open to new truths? Books expand minds and should not be banned.

We are 17-18 years old, what's the big deal? If we don't read it in books we will read it online. This type of material is everywhere and kids can access it at anytime. At least in school we can become educated about the types of things that are talked about in the books.

If you think your kids don't see worse things on the Internet, you are out of touch with today's youth! Helicopter parents need to stop interfering with education. Signed, an RFH Alum and current parent of a student

As an Educator, the banning of books limits students' true capabilities of understanding and growth.... I am proud to have had a fruitful education at RFH, and I trusted my teachers to guide me to the information that I needed to grow, and we need that to continue!

Proud parent of a senior at R-FH who encouraged his son to read "Death and the Maiden" aloud, because that is the best way to appreciate and understand a play.
