Petition Opposing the Concentrated Creation of Rehabilitation Centers, Sober Living, Transitional Housing, Mental Health Centers, & Similar Facilities

This is unacceptable. I oppose for security reasons and the health of my community

Out sheriff had some good ideas regarding what should be done to keep the residents of El Dorado County while addressing those with issues.

I don't understand how these facilities can open without any notice of intent to surrounding residents. It seems that a for profit business would also be a zoning violation?

EDC BOS please represent us, the people who live, pay taxes & vote in EDC - not the remote corporate interests looking to profit handsomely off all our hard work that made this area such a peaceful and desirable location.

The Fernwood Cothrin area is zoned "RE" (Residential Estate) defined by the county as "Single Family Residential" This is in clear violation of the zoning. I am staunchly opposed.

I live here to get away from such drama. I’m sure there are much better populated areas than Shingle Springs which is more rural

Strongly oppose! Many of us in the Cothrin Ranch development are seniors and moved here to be out of city problems. We have all experience difficulty with insurance companies due to extreme fire danger and this would greatly compound our problems. We all maintain our roads which are in poor condition.

Clustering this type of private treatment facilities in such a small community should not be allowed.

Seems like 6 is enough for Shingle Springs area. I would like the county to take some time to see what the effects are on crime and traffic. There should be limits on the number of care facilities. I see 10 to 15 cars next door each day; that has an impact on roads and quality of life in neighborhoods.

Listen to the people, we don’t want it! You guys should be representing us!

Equality! Not licensed properly means not abiding by the rules and regulations set forth and MUST be followed by EVERYONE! Including corporations.

I cannot imagine why this is being allowed in our neighborhoods. Please find a more suitable business location than right in the backyards of rural family homes.

As a home owner in this area since 1978 and now being a retired senior this disturbs me for my personal safety. I am fully against this.

These businesses need to be regulated as businesses not residences. For profit corporations need full disclosure especially if they are receiving federal grant money to purchase property

Who will monitor and placing folks that come in???

As the physician who was elected and re-elected by my colleagues for 10 years to represent El Dorado County to the California Medical Association and who was elected to the Board of Directors of the Sierra- Sacramento Valley Medical Society, I have extensive experience with the different impact of these facilities have had on local communities in California. The financial burdens on El Dorado County government agencies and residents are likely to be severe, and other types of impacts cannot be measured. The county should begin planning for these impacts immediately. I recommend input be obtained by the county from knowledgeable medical and psychiatric experts in our community, including Dr. Bob Nelson M.D., Dr. Russell Jacoby, M.D., and Carolyn E. Cole, M.B.A, who has a B.S.N. from Stanford in Nursing and M.S.N. from Yale in Psychiatric Nursing, who has extensive expertise with these type of facilities. The input from these three experts can be useful help the county prepare for the imminent myriad of financial and psycho-social and safety risks.

This type of development does not belong in residential neighborhoods. Seems like developer is trying to fly under the radar

Shame on El Dorado County for allowing this into neighborhoods without notifying property owners. This kind of strategy seems to lack transparency between governing agencies that promote this and families with children
