Petition Opposing the Concentrated Creation of Rehabilitation Centers, Sober Living, Transitional Housing, Mental Health Centers, & Similar Facilities

I am a strong proponent of mental health services of every kind. AND, I don't mind SOME services being offered in our rural, residential area of Shingle Springs. However, I think the purpose and intent of this for-profit organization is exploiting our area and possible skirting permits and zoning regulations. I request that El Dorado County not only investigates the company and it's recent property purchases in our area, but also the exploited loopholes or whatever permitting avoidances that may be occurring. At minimum, the persons living in our community should be overtly informed on a regular basis. The community that surrounds these properties in question, have upheld our area in El Dorado County financially for many years. To avoid degradation of this community, resulting in less tax dollars from properties in this area, I call on the El Dorado County of Supervisors to take this matter seriously. We moved here to be in a neighborhood community of families not rehab houses. There are specific professional facilities for these folks.

This these types of business's should not be allowed without county oversite, neighbor opinions, due diligence in regards to the impact on the community, and a business license to operate just like a notice for liquor license.

There should be a county requirement for full disclosure to surrounding neighbors on property sales intended for this purpose. Neighbors should have the right to voice their opinions BEFORE this type of use can be approved.

I've lived in Shingle Springs since 1990. We actually have a sober living home 6 houses from our house. They've been there for over six years. We have Never had one problem. They are very good neighbors.

Stop this from effecting our rural communities.

This company should not be allowed to locate multiple facilities in the same neighborhood. It is too disruptive to the existing homeowners.

I have been a Realtor in El Dorado County for 22 years. I have lived in the the Cothrin Ranch neighborhood for 33 years. Our roads are not county maintained yet the county let’s a business like this go in with a multitude of cars coming and going with employees working the different 24 hour shifts. They don’t even have to apply for a special use permit ? I have heard of runaways already escaping from the facility on Montaire. This is very scary and is huge Real Estate disclosure when selling a property and will negatively effect Real Estate values of the homes in the neighborhood. A cluster of over 50 acres owned by Newport Academy. Please help our neighborhood.

Please do not put this beautiful area into a big city.

I think it's great for what you're trying to do for them but I also think it's a better idea to keep them in an industrial neighborhood or commercial not residential neighborhoods

These facilities are not compatible with the developments and houses in our area. We didn't buy our house to be surrounded by rehab facilities that house questionable people

I'm worried that the community has had no input into what impact transitional housing will have on a rural community. I'm also concerned that fire prevention measures won't be taken on these properties.
