Petition - We Want Nick Tweet as Dillingham Elementary Principal

Wonderful guy & fit for job

Mr Tweet is a very important person in Dillingham and the education of our children..It would be a tragedy to remove him from the place he is welcomed and lives Dlg Elem. NOT SURE WHERE OUR ADMIN IS GOING WITH OUR EDUCATORS ..

I have heard only praise for Nick Tweet and his wife. What is this superintendent 's reasoning?!!

What is the rationale the Superintendent is using to do this? Everyone can be replaced in a job, including a Superintendent. The School board, who are to answer to voters of Dillingham, need to address your concern head on. Contact each board member and voice your concern - it appears this principal is doing his job, they're (the administration and may be the board? ) are ghosting him out for some reason. Get to the bottom of this Dillingham and do not stop until you are satisfied. These are your children, your taxes and your lives. What's the plan for the Elementary Prinicipal? Ask questions in open meetings, video them and put them on Facebook. Keep the conversation going. As Mark Hiratsuka used to say "Nobody is a better advocate for your children than you." Keep this conversation going.

Mr. Tweet is an excellent principle!!!!! And all the children of DES respect him as he respects the children at DES don't replace him for something probably temporary.

I am a professor and chair of the UAF Bristol Bay Campus, Sustainable Energy Program in Dillingham. After 4 years in my role it has become obvious how disruptive to both student education and the community that discontinuity of educators, especially a principal results in a detrimental impact to students' educations. It also creates deep divides and mental anguish among staff, children, faculty and the community in general. Nick Tweet has been an educator in that school system for 17 years. His family and him are integral parts of this community. He is extraordinarily respected by his staff, faculty, students and the community in general. He is a fantastic educator that cares deeply for this school system. To offer him a position that is based on a limited, short term grant in the district office that pulls him away from direct educational efforts is not only demoralizing and insulting but destructive to the educational objectives and progress within our region. I request with the strongest sense of my ability that the school board reverse this impractical decision and renew Principal Tweet's contract.

Retain Mr. Tweet! He’s been a consistent at the elementary since 2006. Our kids need stability, not the revolving door of administrators we’ve had in the other building. Nick rolled with the punches in a not so ideal position last year when his coworker/friend was let go for no given reason and did a phenomenal job! By a superintendent that the school had 100% confidence in him. Who then resigns/finds another job less than 2 months later. We need to stop giving all the power to the superintendents that are her for 2-3 years and out of here. We need to do a better job of hiring superintendents that want to be here. Our goal should be stability, and Nick has been that. He has a family here in our system, this is his home! He wants to be here. It would be a shame to let him go only to get replaced by a 1-2 year replacement and going through everything all over again. I vote retain principal Tweet!

Nick Tweet has been a solid figure in the community. Has shed light on every concern brought upon him to the best of his ability, and doesn’t brush things under the rug. Not only does Nick deserve this position but he has earned this. Please consider the impacts and put him back in the rightful spot as principal

Mr. Tweet was an awesome teacher when I had him back then. From what I’ve heard since my niece & and nephew go to school, that he’s been super awesome for what he does now. But as a Principal he would definitely do great as one for Dillingham.

There will be nobody to replace Mr. Tweet. Please keep him!

Nick and his family are top-notch educators and wonderful people. Dillingham DO needs to keep and value administrators such as Nick Tweet. As an educator that taught in Dillingham for six years, I saw and kind, thoughtful leadership in Mr. Tweet. Nick, you rock!

It bothers me as a property tax payer when I hear of poor decisions being made at our school district.

He was my 5th grade teacher years ago, I know he’ll put the students first!

Nick Tweet was an excellent leader when I taught in Dillingham. I believe he deserves to continue in a role where he has successfully influenced the lives of so many young people in the community.

Please do not allow Mr Tweet to lose his position as the Principal! He has been committed to this school for 17 years. Shame on whoever made the decision to not allow him another contract through 2023-2024
