We are the undersigned residents of the Dakota Residential Community in West Delray hereby petition the Palm Beach County Board of County Commisioners to oppose the planned rezoning of the acreage bounded by Atlantic Avenue on the north and 441 on the west from the IL/COZ to and MUPD and to prevent its specific use for heavy and light machinery industrial repair.

1. We believe that the proposed buffers and setbacks will not mitigate adverse impacts on our community inclusive of noise and environmental pollution that would invariably accompany such commercial/industrial development.

2. We are concerned that no environmental impact study is required to assess the effects of the proposed uses of this acreage on a neighboring adjacent residential community with children since such industrial development potentially allows the storage and transportation of hazardous and combustible material with generation of noxious fumes.

3. We are concerned about traffic impact on an already congested area especially given plans for 160 parking spaces that could potentially impede rapid access to Delray Medical Center for medical emergencies via Atlantic Avenue.

4. We are concerned about the likely potential devaluation of our new homes.
