I contribute to Hampton all year long keeping my boat in the at Southall and buying many items in Hampton. If the channel isn't kept open you will loose by business and that income.

As a 25+ year resident of Long Creek, I have seen it all. It is imperative to our city to keep the channels open for all boats and the commercial success of the marinas.

You might remind the city that tax revenues should be an important consideration in their decision process.

The Salt Ponds inlet is a unique resource for people throughout the entire region, not just for residents of Hampton. WIthout this inlet many boaters would simply pass by Hampton in favor of other points north and south.

A very important thing for the city to keep in mind is the property taxes associated with waterfront/water access communities. If the inlet is not kept open, Salt Ponds will not be the tax revenue that it currently is. Can the city afford the lowering of property values?

Salt Ponds is not only an important source of revenue to City of Hampton, but also an important safe harbour during major storms. There are only very few available in the area able to accommodate larger sailboats etc.
