Along with many others, I have been paying property tax to Hampton for many years. What brought me to Hampton was Salt Ponds/Long Creek. Need to keep it open. From the city's perspective, it doesn't make economic sense to continue to just dredge whenever the inlet fills up. Fixing the problem would be much more cost-effective in the long run.

As a taxpayer and landowner, I think this is an important issue to Hampton. This investment by Hampton will increase our land value and help the overall economy in Hampton.

Being located on navigable water is what drew us to this area...please keep the Salt Ponds dredged or slash our taxes accordingly.

i have run aground in this channel several times. It is a narrow channel with a blind turn. This makes it very dangerous to all boaters.

I have kept my vessel other places. Long creek is truly a treasure and unique experience for boaters. It would not only be a shame to not take care of a Hampton treasure, it would be economically foolish to be penny wise and irresponsible stewards while demonstrating a lack of vision.

In the larger perspective, maintaining the creek entrance or not sends a message to all Hampton residents associated with the marine environment. The marketing value to Hampton of these types of activites far outweighs the costs.

The waterway like community schools are community and state assets and should be maintained as such.

As a property owner, boat owner and resident of Southall Landings, the navigability of the Long Creek/Salt Ponds channel affects me in several ways. Dredging of the channel is essential to maintaining local tax values and various business city revenues

We want to continue living in Southall. If there isn't an acessible channel for us, we will be forced to move.

Without this waterway, our lifestyle would change & we would leave Hampton. We want to be residents forever but not without the channel.

The city opened the waterway to navigable boat traffic many years ago. By doing this, (thank you, Hampton) the city dramatically increased the propperty values (and property tax) for everyone who lives on or near Long Creek. The city receives our higher property taxes because the creek is navigable. If the creek were allowed to silt in so that it is no longer navigable, property values (and property taxes) would plummet.

I support keeping the channel open, clean and available to everyone.
