I'm very concerned about our schools and the influx of kids this would cause. Our school is full and sending out letters about teacher reassignment already due to lack of resources. No need to ruin our great school by putting unneeded demand on it.
I also feel like the placement in downtown is terrible. There is plenty of open land in Chanhassen without tearing down businesses and cluttering our city with an ugly too tall building. We don't need Aldis we have 3 grocery stores in that 4 block range.
Also address the parking and road situation.

This is a really bad development plan. Not for the developer, but for the city.
This is not what we need in that location. Do a REAL traffic study and it will substantiate my statement. We do not need an Aldi in Chanhassen. If we really have to have another grocery type store, lets get a good one like Trader Jo's.
I don't think the citizens of Chanhassen want to fund, through taxes and bonds, this type of development. If the City funding doesn't occur, watch how fast the developer changes his mind and also thinks it's a bad idea.

I am opposed to the development as proposed. Three major reasons. First and the primary reason is the significant amount of negative change it will do to downtown chanhassen. Second; the Pohlad family is more than able to build this without taxpayer help; they want us to do that same thing here that we had to do with the Twins stadium and third is the lack of adequate parking. One parking stall per unit is woefully short.

There are a variety of grocery store options already, no need to take business from them by adding another one. Tax payers shouldn't have to pay for high income apartment buildings. If it were for low income, that is another story. My vote is NO.

I am a current resident of Chanhassen and oppose this development for many reasons. 1. I don't see how a discount grocery store a few blocks away from Cub Foods, Target and Lunds Byerlys adds to the downtown vibrancy along with an apartment building. How does this add vitality to a dying downtown? I'm not opposed to housing if housing is needed, but why in this location? Additionally, the taxpayers voices were not heard and will now be on the hook for something nobody wants other than a few city council members? Doesn't make sense.

I am a Chanhassen resident. We DO NOT need another grocery store, also we do not need additional traffic. Our streets are already inundated by traffic to the 5 new fast food restaurants that have been added in the past few years (let's also say NO to any more).
