Petition to Terminate Boston University's Racist professor Saida Grundy

Double standards cannot be tolerated. Would a white assistant professor keep their job if they said this about black college aged males? I think not.

To Whom It May Concern, I sincerely hope that Boston University is reconsidering the hiring of Saida Grundy as a professor in the sociology department. Her recent comments were derogatory, racist, and made in very poor judgment. She clearly has racial issues with “white people” and displayed them on her twitter account. She provided a conduit into her person beliefs that she says she is so “passionate” about. A person of such degraded racist character has no place in an institution of higher learning. How can a teacher with such hatred and passion in her heart administer fair and equal treatment for all students when we know in her heart she despises those of a certain skin color? As an educator she should be required to rise above the racial discord of the times and act in a civil and educated manner. Furthermore, her rhetoric involved foul language which is the strongest expression of a weak mind. How can Boston University consider hiring a person of such racist caliber? We need educators who can heal the nation of racial discord, not deepen the divide. I strongly discourage the hiring of Saida Grundy, not because she is black, but because she is a racist, ignorant, foul-mouthed bigot. I hope that you bring this serious matter to the Boston University Board of Trustees. Sincerely, Jared L. Nees

If she was white and said what she said about blacks she would be fired. There should not be a double standard here. Universities should not employ racists and bigots no matter what their color. Professors and teachers should be impartial and objective above all else.

The best way to eliminate racism is to stop being a racist. Do the right thing and terminate her as you would anyone else who did the same thing. Shame on you for giving her special treatment not afforded to anyone else.

This is absolutely disgusting, and incredibly sexist. If she was a man, she would have been fired immediately.

Our BU Diversity Statement requires we respect each other in the name of creating a welcoming and comforatble learning experience. Gundy clearly has no respect for this statement and white male students. Can't learn in an environment of hate.

A bigot has no place in a tenured position. Sad that MLK was from this instituion and now they are bringing in a prof. who is a blatant racist.

As a college professor I was outraged, shocked, and sickened by the blatantly biased attitude expressed by Prof. Grundy. We, professors, have a responsibility to instruct our students in an objective and unbiased manner regardless of the students' ethnicity, genders, nationality, race, religion, or sexual orientation. The attitude Prof. Grundy expressed publicly has no room in the classroom or the university. Boston University should revoke their offer of employment to Prof. Grundy.

There are multiple stories recently where a white person who expressed their personal opinion was reprimanded (e.g. Principal Nancy Gordeuk - FIRED, students involved in Oklahoma fraternity - EXPELLED, etc). However, a professor can say terrible things about white males and nothing. With every day that passes, it makes me regret more and more having put my life on the line for this country. It is heading down a dangerous path filled with hypocrisy and double-standards.

This is disgusting, she should be terminated immediately. This is hatred and racism at its core. This cannot be tolerated because she's black. A black racist bigot cannot be allowed to teach.

Black, white or purple this behavior is absolutely unacceptable. This should not be tolerated on any platform of education especially when students look to there teachers for some sort of guidance.
