This sounds like a brilliant idea. The building is in an excellent location and should be put to good use now.

It's part of history and a new venue will allow more participants and help direct underprivileged youths

The church has been closed for sometime and is probably rotting inside! Why not put it to good use for the community, I think it would be perfect for inner city boxing! Good luck guys.

As a Saints Foundation Project Officer the charity used Inner City Boxing Club to deliver boxing sessions in schools, the local community of St Mary's and Southampton as a whole. The sessions delivered varied from boxercise sessions for overweight adults, boxing sessions for young people only, boxing sessions for female only participants and school sessions. During this 3 year period the club engaged with over 400 young people allowing them the opportunity to take part in sport and learn valuable skills as well as providing invaluable experience in discipline and respect to others. The club was fantastic in their proffesionalism and delivery - this was demonstrated in the high volume of engagement through the sport of boxing. The club also opened its doors to overweight adults involved in the Football Fans in Training Programme also delivered by the Saints Foundation. ICBC was fundamental in helping 25 adults all local to Southampton lose over 5% of their body weight in a 3 month period, many went on to lose over double that base line figure. Many of the participants retained their involvment with ICBC ensuring they maintained their new weight. ICBC has been a key partner to the Saints Foundation in delivering local Community based projects with the aim of creating a healthier, safer and better St Mary's and Southampton, without the support of ICBC many of these projects delivered would of underachieved and not met funding targets. Throughout the 3 year period working with ICBC one observation has been ever present in that the club means so much to so many, often the facillity is full to capacity from early afternoon to late evening Monday to Friday, this has restricted the clubs abillity to grow, I feel that if the club was to have a larger facility in which to offer their services they would be in a position to create a greater positive impact to more people in the St Mary's and the wider community. It's unfair and unrealistic to look at Inner City B
