Petition to Sutherland Shire Council to review the current laws with respect to recreational beach access for dogs and horses in Kurnell.

Please allow well behaved animals like horses and dogs on the beach. Onmy fines owners if they do something wrong, like not pick up poop. Thank you.

This particular beach has always been pet friendly with no issues at all.

Kurnell is a wonderful beach. It is clean. The dogs have a wonderful time. The locals enjoy having the dogs

I want to be able to walk my dog on the beach on leash - I can’t take her to off leash as the larger dogs chase her - we should be able to do this - have leash only times. Salt water exercise is really good for horses as well

It is an important place for our fur babies. The humans already have too much space!

Keep Kurnell safe, open and free

As I walk around the Point, I pick up all the rubbish I see (much of it washed up plastics such as soft plastic, bottle tops, food wrappers). If I am not allowed to take my dogs there, I have no reason to make the drive out there!

Some people that dont have any family and their pets are their children and are as dedicated to each other as a parent is to their child. Would council stop parents taking their children to the beach and who says the beach is for humans only. I would rather see dogs on a beach than some of those drunken idiots that do nothing but annoy others on the beach

Growing up and enjoying watching horses and their responsible owners cool down in summer. And families have runs along the beach with their dogs. I want my children to experience the same enjoyment that I have. Our children should be out enjoying the sun and exercising and no better way than with their pet dog or horse. That is why we love living in the Nell ❤️

Totally agree. Our dogs like a run. But people need todo the right things as well and clean up after their dog—everyone!!

Common SSC, wake up, get out of peoples lives. I visit this area regularly and just love it. Stop taking away one of the only places we can enjoy with our animals.

I have been horse riding on this beach since I was a child, and I am now 50. There is hardly anywhere you can ride horses these days and this is one of the last places you can do so anywhere in or near Sydney. Horse riders are recreational users as well and have always been allowed to access this beach. Horse riding is a dwindling sport and as such the beach does not get heavy use by riders anyway so why on earth ban us? Why do we spend billions of dollars adding cycle paths to roads, building skate parks and massive public sporting facilities all over Australia but bit by bit deny horse riders places to actually ride? Why must we be continuously discriminated against? Please allow us SOMEWHERE to ride that doesn’t involve a 3 hour drive and the expense of a horse float. Please!

Why ruin a good thing , how are people and their animals supposed to live full and enjoyable lives with restrictions on beautiful free areas like this !! So sad that this it what is happening everywhere mostly because of too many do gooders in the world complaining because they ACTUALLY have nothing better to do ....

So many things changing for worse. Leave this area for animal lovers. The small beach is great for animals to swim but they cannot truly have a ‘run’. Which is why this issue has come about.

Risk should not be the driver for this type of action without a comprehensive review and mitigation process. This nature of this community is defined by the relaxed and carefree lifestyle centred around family and their pets and horses.

You are a Joke Sutherland shire Council . We have been using this place for years for a pet friendly zone .
