For the life of me I can't figure out how the proponents can say that the college won't materially affect the already bad westside traffic situation. They assert that most of the students won't be driving to the campus. Really? Have they looked recently at any high school parking lots?

The longer this controversy continues it begins to feel the site selection was a backroom deal which cannot be logically defended when compared with possible alternative sites.

Just doesn't make sense, unless using the old adage of, "follow the money."

I feel as if this location is being pushed down our throats. Traffic in this area is already bad.

If you want signatures go to SW and the people who have to deal with the Reed Market Bond St / Brookwood roundabout every day.

I'm totally opposed to the west side site, and think that there are other viable and less expensive alternative sites.

OSU-Cascades should be located for ease of access to all Central Oregon and beyond, not just some little enclave in Bend.

Why would they build this campus in such a tight space? There is lots of space on east side of Bend that affords room for expansion, why cram it in on the west side??

We need a campus where it is easier for other central oregon communities to reach!

The northeast side of town is close to 97 making it easier to reach for all of Central Or. Also has the room for expansion for housing and services geared to students.

Wrong wrong wrong location. Another location could be an enhancement to the city, this location will only cause problems to an already congested area

OSU has pulled the wool over the eyes of Bend residents, and has not been transparent. OSU has been arrogant and continues to be arrogant in shoving this location down our throats. The proposed location is dead wrong. Locate this campus at Juniper Ridge. You were able to obtain this location for free, Dr Ed Ray and Dr Becky Johnson. Located at Juniper Ridge, the infrastructure will follow very quickly.

While we all welcome a 4 year college; this Westside location is just wrong. The city made a terrible mistake in not requiring a master plan. It simply doesn't work and taxpayers foot the bill!

I happened across this petition through the Bend Bulletin. I feel it's critical that the people in Bend become aware of it through other means. Many people don't take the paper.

This location for this campus is a HUGE disaster in the making. I can see college kids now riding their bikes, skateboards, walking, mopeds, etc. down the streets of west side Bend at night drunk and texting at the same time. The East side of Bend is a much better location for such a large development near Les Schwab corporate as an example where that side of town can bring in all types of new businesses to grow Bend for the future and give the students a part of town that can be safe for them and not accidentally harm others in a tightly pact area such as the west side is now.
