Petition to Save Volcani Center

Volcani Center has made a continuous research contribution to improving agriculture production and efficiency that is applicable to agricultural systems throughout the world. There is a synergism, close by, with the University of Jerusalem in many areas, which exemplifies enhanced productivity of scale. This has been evident in examining the productivity of cooperative BARD programs. An isolated re-location of the Volcani Center would be counter-productive to interdisciplinary programs.

Relocation will severely disrupt one of the world's leading agricultural research facilities and likely will cause it permanent harm.

The Volcani Center is a WORLD LEADER in agricultural research. Many of the agricultural techniques used around the world have been developed there. It has excellent infrastructure which has taken decades to develop. Relocating the Center will set back Israeli agricultural research for many years and will also have a detrimental effect on the global research effort.

Volcani Center continues to be a critical research center for agriculture, for the world, not just Israel.

I hereby support as a signatory of this petition to reject the proposed move and evisceration of Volcani Center.

Agricultural research is critical for the success of the world's crops and the populations that depend on them. Marginalizing researchers' ability to collaborate and thrive is a disservice to society.

The Volcani Institute has been a truly world-class institution generating some of the best agricultural research in many different critical areas. Endangering this valuable institution will hurt Israel and global research in agriculture. Please reconsider.

Viticulture research from the Volcani Institute has been very influential and widely cited throughout the scientific literature. They have been leaders in research into irrigation, vine nutrition, crop control, and many other topics. I strongly urge the Israeli government to rescind their decision to close this important research institute.

Please keep Volcani at its current location where it will continue to thrive, serve all of Israel, and stay easily connected internationally.

The Volcani Center is a world recognized agricultural organization with thousands of collaborators. To move the base of operations to a location that makes it harder for researchers to reach the fields in which they test next generation agricultural technology will definitely impede competitiveness. The eventual loosers in this are the farmers and of course the people that eat their products.

I fully support the petition against the relocation of this prestigious Research Centre.

Please save ARO......Dont be think about business (Real estate) point of view because agriculture research never ever end. Think about next generation.

Please don't relocate the ARO from it's place. The location of ARO is in center region is more convenient to connect to south and north region farmers and Scientists/faculties. In a alternative solution an extension of ARO can be opened at the proposed place. But let the ARO be there where it is.

Agricultural research is a vital necessity to the wellbeing of people.

Please reject the proposed move and evisceration of Volcani Center............. As my peanut field experiments are located to south and North and current place is convenient to move for both places... Also, its easy for international students to go from Tel Aviv to their home countries....which is near to current place Current Place is feeling safe and secure for international student. I support the rejection of the proposed move and evisceration of Volcani Center.............
