The Volcano Center has a tremendous international reputation built over many decades of outstanding research. Much if not all of this investment would be lost if the institute is relocated or closed.

It is only logical to keep the Volcani Center at its current and effective location. This is also a historical treasure as one of the birthplaces of international fish genetics and breeding.

CIRAD is a french Institute working on agronomy (especially with Southern countries). We have a fruitful partnership with the Volcani Center since 1990 especially on fish genetics. Scientists of the Volcani Center are internationally renowned on this topic. Closing the Volcani Center would be a terrible news for the international scientific community.
