I’m all for keeping the Junction a historical area and should be code enforced as other historical neighborhoods!

Please please HVJ as the unique entity as it was. As a decades long shopper of several stores and eateries it is splendid and wonderful as is. Adding these multiple living quarters is not a bonus for the area. Don’t fix was it not broken.

Need to get back to going to Thursday night Farmers Market and music in the Junction.

Nobody wants Valley Junction to look like West Glen. They are my favorite part of town for the charm and locally owned businesses.

This is a part of my childhood and now that I’m 1000 miles away I look forward to visiting every year. I LOVE VJ!!!

I grew up in the area and drove through it recently when visiting family. I barely recognized what has been done to the area. Even if you want to make an "eat/work/play" atmosphere, you can do it without the ugly construction and consequences to small retailers.

I was born and raised in West Des Moines and it makes me sad to see the changes being made.

I bought a home in this neighborhood 6 months ago. The old time feel of Valley Junction was the majority of my reason for buying here.

Please keep Valley Junction historic and “home town” looking. A welcome retreat from all the strip malls and office buildings!

This is a historic landmark I always bring guests let them explore and shop.

This explains why parking is atrocious now. A piece of history is being destroyed.

Please do NOT take away the small town feel of Historic Valley Junction

Please stop the development of this area. It’s now impossible to park anywhere near the small shops. If you are older it then becomes impossible for you to get needed repairs on items such as sewing machines and if you cannot find a place to park within reasonable walking distance you just leave the area altogether. It is so disappointing to see those ugly three story rectangles going up with no charm or personality. The people and businesses that are moving in are destroying Valley Junction and the developers just keep getting richer.

Valley Junction is a twice-annual vacation stop for my family. The last year or so it has been much less enjoyable due to the issues listed in this petition. It is my hope that while some changes cannot be reversed, further damage to HVJ can be prevented.

I hope you are able to keep Valley Junction the quaint shopping area it has been. I'll share in hopes of getting more signatures.

Maintain the historic look of HVJ. Changing the look and business direction of the area will cause irreversible changes, many of those who work and live in the area will not appreciate. If things keep moving in this direction, you may have caring and concerned citizens moving away.

The new construction I've seen I HVJ is incompatible with the area and distracts from the appeal that local businesses have worked so hard to achieve. Further development of the same type should not be allowed.
