I strong oppose the sale of Archibalds Wharf. It is the only greenspace in North Sydney, and quite frankly, the one of the only areas that doesn't look like a third world country in downtown North Sydney. I love my hometown, but the aura of neglect and poverty is shocking. I was thrilled when several small businesses and restaurants began to appear, and I had hoped that it was the beginning of better days for the downtown area. There is so much potential for the area - with a wealth of tourist and traffic via Marine Atlantic, and yet, it is hard to imagine how the downtown area could be less inviting. Of course, turning the small green space of Archibald's Wharf into yet another industrial area would certainly accomplish make it less so. Surely there is another solution, another option. Jobs are vitally important in our area. I spent seventeen homesick years away from our island, and while I'm thrilled to be home again, making a living is a challenge here. But all too often, the price required for those jobs is too steep, and even when the price is paid, the jobs are fleeting, if they materialize at all. It seems to me that all too often, deals are made by politicians before citizens are consulted. It is clear that the business community of North Sydney has a vision for what the downtown area could become. Perhaps it's time that our elected officials started listening. I for one, will remember this incident, whatever the outcome, when elections roll around again.

I can't believe that are even considering selling our only truly green space and gathering for all ages, the people in charge should be ashamed if themselves , I hope we can stop this action, wake up community and let's stand together !

We have very places for events and families to gather in our town. CBRM is always asking the question what can we do to stop outmigration, what can we do to attract young people? Taking away green spaces and areas for families to play is the wrong way to attract growth.

I am by no means anti-jobs, talk about bringing people home to work? We need something for them and their families when they get here. Archbald's Wharf is the cornerstone of downstown North Sydney. We have THOUSANDS of passengers travelling to and from Newfoundland each year and we now have a brand new terminal bilding right on top of our downtown core. This will mean more foot traffic, and we are going to demolish our main attraction? Time to be innovative, find some alternatives and put our common sense hats on.

To Cecil Clarke and CBRM council, the selling/leasing of this land, without consultation and review from the citizens of North Sydney, for industrial use is reprehensible.

Our jobs are almost non- existent, our hospital is almost ever opened, there are very very few businessess downtown, our forum -gone, but the civic center that cost $$$$$$$$ isn't bringing in as much as they thought. What really blows my mind is the fact that the Mayor himself forgot where he came from and I guess when you come from nothing and get something you tend to become greedy instead of sharing and taking care of the ones who took care of YOU!!!!! This is all we have left, our little piece of heaven, a place where we can go and remember the good old days, relax, and even listen to music....Well as the saying goes, money does change people!

This is a very important feature to the Northside, The area has lost so much over the years, we need to keep these recreational areas for the future of the Town. Whenever I make a trip back home this is one of the spots I always visit.
