We, the undersigned, demand that you abandon the banker-friendly Joint Federal/State Attorney Mortgage Settlement effort, and, instead, act in the interests of the people of RI by investigating and prosecuting banks involved in fraudulent foreclosure and mortgage schemes. It is known that banks routinely used “robosigning” and fraudulent affidavits during foreclosures; however, a more far reaching investigation is needed to determine the extent of criminal wrong doings by the banks, not only during foreclosures, but also in the mortgages as they were written and brokered.
Attorneys General in Massachusetts, New York, Nevada, Delaware, and California have concluded that there should be no settlement unless it is preceded by a thorough investigation, and that the various states have jurisdiction in those investigations. We demand that you investigate and seek justice for people who were illegally driven from their homes and/or defrauded. In addition, the many proven cases of bank fraud warrant, we believe, an indefinite cessation on foreclosures of all persons’ primary residences in Rhode Island.
My neighbors lost their home because of these lies. Its criminal what they did. stop the foreclosures now!

Enough with these bank bailouts. They destroyed families and nobody went to jail. Kilmartin needs to actually do his job for once and stop looking out for wall street.
